Share Folder Permissions for Users

  1. You can create an initial Share Folder, lets say for IT Group, Accounts, Procurements, etc

  2. Give the full access to everyone to that root share folder

  3. Then inside the root share folder you will have sub root folders for individual users

Creating User Share Folder with Permissions

  1. Inside the root share folder that you have previously created in the previous section

  2. Create new folder that will be allocated for the specific user

  1. Right click on the folder and select properties

  2. Then select he security tab, then select advanced

  1. Here you will see all the users that have permission to this folder, but we want to change that and provide access only to its indented person

  2. Click the "Disable Inheritance" button and select the first option "Convert inherited permissions into explicit permissions on this object"

  1. Now remove the unnecessary users, except the adminsitrator and the creator and include only the user that is supposed to have access to this share folder, to do this press the "Add" button

  1. Now click on select a principal and select the user, press ok and then give the user permissions to that folder

  1. Now select the permissions for that user to the folder

  1. Press Ok and press apply, and now only that user has access to that folder
